Southern is bracing itself for delays this afternoon after receiving reports of a vehicle hitting a bridge.
The rail operator took to Twitter at 2.45pm to warn passengers there would be disruption, but has not yet been able to provide any details of what this might be.
"Getting reports of a vehicle striking a bridge in the Purley area, which is going to cause disruption, more to follow," Southern said on Twitter.
