HUNDREDS of families attended the Croydon fire station open day this weekend.
Little did I know quite how many would watch me cowering as skilled fire crews began to cut away at the scrapped car I was sat in yesterday.
I volunteered to be the casualty in the demonstration, which showed audiences how crews recover victims quickly in badly damaged cars involved in crashes.
