The Metropolitan Police have confirmed they are treating the stabbing of a young man in Thornton Heath as attempted murder.
Emergency services were called to Bensham Lane's junction with Lodge Road at about 8.30pm on Wednesday night where they found a 23-year-old man suffering from stab wounds.
The victim was rushed to hospital in a critical condition. This morning he is described as being in a critical but stable condition according to police.
