The general secretary of the ASLEF union, which is behind the latest batch of rail strikes, has revealed that he has never met Southern Rail's boss.
Mick Whelan has also warned commuters that unless a deal is reached with Southern Rail, he cannot rule out on-going strike action by the union, which represents nearly 1,000 Southern drivers.
The union is currently in a bitter dispute with Southern over the train operator's controversial driver-only operated (DOO) trains.
