Croydon is likely to keep its 70 councillors as part of plans to redraw the political map of the borough, in the face of calls from the Conservatives to cut their number.
The Local Government Boundary Commission for England announced yesterday that though the ward boundaries will be redrawn, it is minded to recommend that the council should keep all 70 members.
