Weatherman Ian Currie has played down the Met Office's prediction of a 30 or 31 degree heatwave in Croydon early next week.
Mr Currie also forecast a spell of hot weather lasting a few days but believed the maximum temperatures would be more like 27C (81F) rather than the sweltering 30C (86F) or 32C (90F) the Met Office thought would occur on Tuesday.
